Over the last few years, Markel Law has continued to build a profile in the Legal 500. That’s why we’re delighted that in this year’s rankings, Markel Law has been ranked in more categories than ever. This is a fantastic reflection of the day-to-day work carried out across the teams where clients, counsel and experts recognise the calibre of legal services we provide.
The Legal 500 UK Solicitors 2023 rankings is the leading guide to law firms and solicitors in the UK. The rankings reflect the result of months of extensive analysis by their research team, who conduct thousands of interviews with private practice lawyers and read through tens of thousands of submissions in order to select the very best lawyers and law firms in the UK.
The process of achieving a ranking is robust and consists of a series of questions, case write-ups and client/professional referees. Outcomes like this are a real team effort that involve both lawyers and support staff – meaning a set of strong results is a huge achievement for any UK law firm.
This year we were ranked:
• Tier 2 Health and Safety (up a tier from last year)
• Tier 2 Professional Negligence
• Tier 2 Business Crime
• Tier 3 Employment
We were also noted as the ‘Firm to Watch’ in Health and Dispute Resolution – a new category which highlights the best up-and-coming firms and practices nationwide.
As with previous years, Gareth Martin, Senior Solicitor, and Lauren Wilson, Solicitor, were again listed as ‘Next Generation Partner’ and ‘Rising Star’ respectively and a number of Markel Law’s lawyers were noted and received personal mentions after being flagged by clients.
Richard Napoli, Claims and Legal Services Director, had this to say about the achievement: “As you’d expect, the rankings have been a huge success for Markel Law as a law firm. To have had our best rankings to date, and against some real heavyweight law firms, shows just how far we’ve come”.
