Markel UK is delighted to once again be the headline sponsor of the Markel 3rd Sector Awards.

Markel UK is delighted to once again be the headline sponsor of the Markel 3rd Sector Awards. This will be the eighth year we have been associated with an incredible event that highlights the hard work, dedication and commitment from individuals and organisations right across the third sector.

Over the time we have been supporting this event, we’ve seen the awards grow and are looking forward to the ceremony at The Grand Hotel in Birmingham on 3 March 2023.

The Markel 3rd Sector Care Awards shines a spotlight on a host of worthy individuals and organisations that are improving the lives of people experiencing tremendous challenges up and down the country. Each entry demonstrates the diversity and capability of charities in the UK, all of which work extremely hard and do so much good.

This year, there will be two brand new categories that will allow even more providers to showcase their achievements:

  • Development and Innovation Award: recognises an individual, group or organisation finding new models of care or research that make a difference to the lives of people using services.
  • Social Care Nursing Award: celebrating an exceptional registered social care nurse at any level, who has used their wide-ranging skills to implement outstanding and innovative person-centred care in the voluntary and/or not-for-profit sector.

Markel is widely recognised as a key supporter to the care sector, demonstrated with our commitment to the sector during Covid and through the provision of our specialist insurance, legal, tax and consultancy capability. This includes our specialist care consultancy, Markel Care Practitioners, who help across a range of issues such as risk management, inspection preparation and continuity planning.

The care industry continues to navigate uncertainty including post-pandemic learnings, changing CQC inspection requirements and recruitment issues, so these awards are a great opportunity to celebrate the innovation and resilience of those in the sector.

Finalists are also invited to interact with others in sector, including some of its influential leaders. The ceremony would be the perfect opportunity to celebrate and share the achievements of the sector whilst building long-standing relationships at the same time.

Therefore, we’d encourage you to enter a not-for-profit organisation that deserves recognition.

Entry is free of charge and you can enter clients here. Nominations close on 7th October.
