We’re pleased to announce the appointment of Lee Dainty as Chief Operations Officer for our UK business, effective 7th April 2026. This newly created role reflects the continued growth of our UK operations and our investment in building a people‑first, service‑led operating model.
In this position, Lee will lead our ongoing pursuit of operational excellence, helping to enhance the way we serve brokers and customers while supporting sustained investment across the organisation. Working closely with teams across the UK and with Markel’s global business units, Lee will play a key part in shaping the next phase of our operational, data, and technology journey.
This includes strengthening our operational resilience and ensuring we stay ahead of evolving customer needs in a fast‑moving market during this period of significant growth.

Lee joins us from a background that includes seven years as Vice President, Commercial Claims at Intact and RSA prior to their acquisition, following a 30‑year career in a wide range of operational, technical, and senior leadership roles.

Lee will join our UK executive team, reporting to Lee Mooney, and will be based in our Birmingham office while working across all Markel UK locations.
