Danny joined Markel Tax in October 2021 bringing with him a wealth of over 25 years of tax and National Insurance employment status experience to our Contractor Solutions division. His career began in 1994 with the National Insurance Contributions Agency as an Assistant Inspector within the Employer Compliance function with further spells at HMRC, again in the area of Employer Compliance and Risk and Research, before moving into private practice advising High Net Worth clients on their tax position. The last 20 years include senior positions at Accountax Consulting and another leading tax status consultancy where he has built an enviable reputation in the contractor market space. Danny specialises in all areas of employment status most notably IR35 off-payroll and self-employment and is able to provide clients with IR35 contract review services including contract negotiation and drafting, representation in HMRC IR35 off-payroll and tax status disputes having represented hundreds of contractors over the years and never losing a case, IR35 training including speaker engagements and general employment status consultancy.
