Ann-Marie joined Markel Tax in November 2024 following almost 8 years with HMRC where she latterly worked within the Individuals Policy Team as a Technical Adviser. In this role, she provided comprehensive guidance on tax legislation, reviewed non-statutory clearance applications, and assisted in reviewing cases heading to Tribunal.
Having previously completed her Law Degree at Birmingham City University, she spent nearly 5 years at the Legal Aid Agency as a Legal Aid caseworker.
Throughout her career, Ann-Marie has managed a wide range of complex tax enquiries across diverse areas building an extensive understanding of HMRC’s compliance activity. She is very experienced in personal tax enquiries and a specialist in the taxation of registered pension schemes.
