Kennady is a Trainee Solicitor who is currently completing her second seat in our Civil Litigation Team.

Having joined the Markel Claims Team in January 2021, Kennady has experience in managing a claim from the outset through to the resolution, while making decisions on the extent and validity of a claim and checking for any potential fraudulent activity. Kennady obtained invaluable experience in dealing with insurers, brokers and insured individuals/companies. This experience has assisted Kennady in her transition to Markel Law and working on defending complex high-value claims on behalf of the insurers.

Kennady’s first seat was in the Crime and Regulatory Department in which she assisted with all types of regulatory proceedings such as: inquests, fitness to practice, Ofsted investigations and police misconduct. The role allowed her to gain experience in legal research, drafting, file management and providing client care at every step of the process.

In her time in the Civil Litigation Department she has had exposure to a variety of different claims and disputes. She has carried out tasks such as proving legal opinions, drafting, proceedings/statements of case and, compiling witness evidence which has furthered and enhanced her existing legal skills.

She obtained her undergraduate first-class law degree from the University of Bradford in 2020 and is in the process of completing her Solicitors Qualifying Exams (SQE).
