Markel Tax appoints Lyn Comerford as divisional director – tax

We’re delighted to announce the appointment of Lyn Comerford as divisional director – tax. The strategic appointment underscores our dedication to growth and commitment to enhancing the customer experience for our accountant partners through our comprehensive range of services.

Comerford joined Markel in 2019 as Head of Strategy, before taking up the role of divisional director - tax. She previously worked at Merrill Lynch, the World Bank and McKinsey & Company, and has a BEng from Imperial College and an MBA from Wharton.

Under Comerford's leadership, the team will continue to support accountancy practices across the UK, regardless of their size or location. Drawing on her extensive consultancy and financial experience, Comerford will be responsible for driving the Markel Tax’s fee protection insurance offering and its specialist tax consultancy service offering which spans contractor solutions, incentives & reliefs, and tax investigations. She will also oversee all operational aspects of the business.

Speaking about her new role, Comerford stated, “I am delighted to have the opportunity to lead Markel Tax and our talented team of tax experts. There is much focus on tax policy and legislative changes, and this presents an opportunity for us to deliver innovative solutions and exceptional outcomes for our clients.”

Comerford is also a member of the UK executive team, reporting into Galjaard and based across all Markel Tax’s offices.
