Essential risk management services that insurers provide to SMEs
The ABI’s annual insurance conference took place towards the end of February this year and we were delighted that our UK managing director, Neil Galjaard, was able to participate in one of the breakout sessions: Risky Business – How is insurance supporting business to grow from SME to mid-corporate?
Chaired by QBE’s Nick Hankin and alongside fellow panellists—Adam Ball (Zurich), Julia Graham (Airmic), Sarah Stanford (Aspen)—Neil contributed to a lively discussion about the essential risk management services that insurers provide to SMEs and mid-corporate businesses, and the implications of climate change, geopolitics, and new technologies on risk management and how insurers are addressing these challenges.
As part of the discussion, Neil also addressed the specific question of how the role of insurers in supporting SMEs & mid-corporate businesses has evolved over recent years.
The session was widely covered in the insurance media, including these pieces from Insurance Age and Insurance Post.
