Mark Redmond has over 30 years of experience in working with vulnerable adults in a wide range of settings including domiciliary care, live-in care, extra support, residential and nursing homes across the public, private and charitable sectors. For much of that time he has worked in management roles, including running his own care company and as MD / CEO of other services.
Splitting his time between academia and social care practice his background includes research, consultancy, and in policy formulation, for example, co-writing the first hate crime guidance for adults with learning difficulties for the VPST at the then Dept of Health. He has published widely on subjects such as financial abuse and safeguarding.
Today much of Mark’s work is focused on running mock inspections and conducting quality audits, safeguarding, reviewing care plans & risk assessments, and focusing on CQC KLOEs to ensure services remain safe, reliable and robust.
