Sandy Kaur

Sandy is a Solicitor in the Casualty Team at Markel Law, having qualified as a Solicitor in 2018. Sandy joined the firm in April 2023.

With over nine years of experience in personal injury litigation, Sandy has acted for both defendants and claimants. Since 2019, she has specialised in Defendant personal injury civil litigation, representing national insurer clients in fast and multi-track professional indemnity, employers’ and public liability claims — from pre-litigation disputes through to fully litigated trials.

Sandy is known for her collaborative approach, having worked closely with a wide range of Insureds and Brokers. She places strong emphasis on building positive relationships from the outset and has a proven ability to manage expectations effectively and build rapport with clients and counsel.

Sandy drafts her own pleadings and conducts advocacy for interim applications and direct hearings. Sandy has also represented clients and Insureds at coroner’s inquests in relation to potential civil claims. While managing her own caseload, she also supports senior fee earners on complex multi-track matters and provides guidance to junior team members.

Sandy has achieved significant savings for clients, including securing the discontinuance of multiple claims. Most notably, she recently brought a complex multi-track claim—ongoing for three years—to a successful resolution by way of the claimant discontinuing the claim.
