Richard joined Markel in 2010 and is a member of the Markel UK leadership team with responsibility for the people, policy and processes of their Customer Solutions Division. The division comprises of Markel’s pre and post loss mitigation services including Markel’s claims function, their law firm, loss adjusting business, risk consulting businesses and Markel’s telephone advice lines.
Richard is dedicated to ensuring the customer claims journey is the best that it can be with the claims function having the aspiration to be the most customer focused, value adding and nimble claims function in the market.
Richard sits as chair of the of the Chartered Insurance Institute’s Professional Communities Advisory Board (PCAB), a board designed to support the CII’s strategic thinking.
Richard is a qualified solicitor and holds the ACII designation.
